Agilent Plans Research Facility in Scotland
"The decision to locate this facility with the company's largest concentration of telecommunications expertise demonstrates our ongoing commitment to this site and the Scottish economy," said Andy Belcher, general manager of Agilent's South Queensferry site. "In addition, the availability of some of the leading technologists and academics in the communications field and the potential to develop joint research projects with local and European universities were key factors." Agilent Technologies -- a developer and manufacturer of test, measurement, and monitoring instruments, systems, and solutions -- is among Scotland's leading high-tech employers. The new research facility is expected to create up to 40 high-caliber scientific positions within the next two years. Agilent also announced that, over the next three months, it would add 60 new engineering and software positions to its existing South Queensferry operation. Back to News Center |
