2006 analysis software from SolidWorks Corp., Concord, MA, includes
the addition of more than 100 new features to the three COSMOS products:
COSMOSWorks® finite element analysis software, COSMOSMotion™
motion simulation software, and COSMOSFloWorks® fluid dynamics
analysis software. All three COSMOS products are integrated with
the SolidWorks 3D mechanical design software. New interactive wizards
such as an Analysis Advisor, enable engineers to choose the proper
analysis for their tasks, respond if an analysis fails, and interpret
results. COSMOSWorks offers enhanced meshing functions, drop testing
functionality, and single-step modeling of common connectors such
as bolts and hinges. COSMOSMotion includes automatic mapping for
geometry mates in modeling mechanical joints. COSMOSFloWorks includes
multiple rotating frames of reference to analyze the heat and airflow
in assemblies such as helicopters and electrical enclosures.
