ALGOR, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, has announced the
release of V14, the latest version of its finite element analysis
(FEA) software that features enhanced midplane meshing, thermal
contact support, a new spring element, and more than 45 other changes.
The software includes Alibre Design Basic 6.0 SP2 for parametric
solid modeling, enhanced midplane meshing for reducing thin, solid
features in a CAD model to plate/shell elements, and a new spring
element for static stress with linear material models and linear
dynamic analyses including visualization in the Superview IV Results
environment.
Other features are improved contact and friction for Mechanical
Event Simulation, thermal contact for steady-state and transient
heat transfer analyses, improved multiphysics loading, and NASTRAN
support for critical buckling load analysis and spring elements.
