The DW-5K wireless industrial keyboard/pointing
device from IKEY, Austin, TX, incorporates radio frequency (RF)
technology and 116-key functionality. The full-sized keyboard features
an integrated, three-button HulaPoint II(tm) pointing device, 24
function keys, a 10-key numeric pad, an ABS polycarbonate case,
and a sealed, silicone rubber keypad. The keyboard meets NEMA 4X
specifications for dust, water, and corrosive liquid resistance.
The DW-5K has a 30-foot RF range and operates in continuous power
conservation mode for a six-month average battery life. It uses
a USB dongle for plug-and-play use, and because it uses RF signals,
it is not susceptible to line-of-sight issues associated with infrared
keyboards. A manual binding feature locks in the keyboard's signal, enabling
the operation of multiple wireless keyboards within the same environment.
