High-Voltage Amplifier
The Model PZD700A high-voltage power amplifier from Trek Inc. (Medina, NY) addresses the need for high speed and fast settling when driving capacitive loads in piezoelectric driving/control, electro-optics, MEMS and other demanding applications such as laser modulation and ion beam control. The amplifier provides a large signal bandwidth of 125 kHz (-3dB) and a small signal bandwidth greater than 250 kHz (-3dB).
The amplifier’s design offers outstanding DC stability, high speed and precise control of output voltages (DC or peak AC) in the programmable ranges of 0 to ±700 V with an output current range of 0 to ±100 mA (bipolar model); 0 to +1.4 kV with ±50 mA (unipolar model); 0 to -1.4 kV with ±50 mA (unipolar model). The four-quadrant, active output stage sinks or sources current into reactive or resistive loads throughout the output voltage range.

Choke Coil
The CM01H900 common-mode choke coil from Taiyo Yuden (U.S.A.) Inc. (Schaumburg, IL) measures 1.2(L) × 1.0(W) × 0.9(H) mm, reportedly the industry’s smallest. The coil’s common-mode impedance is 65 ohms at 100 MHz. Other specifications include DC resistance of 0.5 ohms, rated voltage of 20 V, rated current of 250 mA, and characteristics impedance of 100 ohms.

Miniature Cable
Leoni (Kitchener, Germany) is extending its portfolio of special cable products to include cables with cores having outer diameters as small as 0.02 mm. These wafer-thin miniature cables are used for medical, measurement and control equipment, as well as a u t o m a t i o n and industrial equipment.
The cables are comparable in thickness to half that of a human hair. The use of special insulation and jacket materials as well as optimized shielding technologies achieves maximum flexibility together with high packing density and optimum electrical properties.
